The aspect of Anna Gaskell's work that I find most useful to inspire my future photographic work is her use of editing in theoretical photography. Her photos almost have a fuzzy and soft texture, allowing the viewer to see the details of her main subjects (typically the young girls) more efficiently. She uses soft lighting in the background and contrasts it with more bold lighting on her main subjects to enhance the details. Her use of surrealism in creating characters and props for her photos is very inspirational to me, as her photos seem almost unnatural yet effective.
